San Francisco, October 31: As soon as the US presidential election entered the week, Instagram (Instagram) removed recent tabs from hashtag pages to prevent the spread of harmful content. In general, when people search the hashtag on Instagram, they can choose between the top post or recent post. But now they will be able to see only the top posts. Facebook-owned Instagram said in a tweet on Friday, “Starting today we will temporarily remove the ‘recent’ tab from hashtag pages for the people of America. We are doing this to reduce the spread of potentially harmful content , Which can mess around the time of the election. “
This popular photo and video sharing platform had already taken some steps to prevent the spread of election-related misinformation from its platform. Facebook had removed around 1.2 lakh posts from its main app and Instagram in October.
